Situations

This photo was taken a few years ago near Clear Fork Gorge in Mohican State Park. We were on our way to the lodge. It was in mid January and bitter cold. We could only bare being outside the car for a few minutes at a time. The wind was blowing fiercely through the gorge and covering the south side with snow. As we approached the hill, I looked at the road.. something didn’t look right. It looked wet but as cold as it was I decided to stop and check the road surface. I stopped, got out of the car and walked toward the hill. I immediately realized the road wasn’t wet, it was coated with ice. I slowly backed away from the hill, turned around and we went a different route. We would have had a really bad day if we had went down that hill.  We’ve sometimes gotten ourselves into “situations” while wandering about but we’ve always managed to get out of them.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.
