We were on our way home late one evening and passed this cemetery. It was getting dark but I decided to stop and take a few photos. This cemetery is in a churchyard. The church looks as though it has not seen any parishioners for a very long time. In bygone days burials often took place in family plots or churchyards. The box shape in the foreground is an outhouse. There’s something mysterious and captivating about abandoned cemeteries. These silent, solemn grounds, once bustling with mourners and memories, now lie forgotten, their stories buried under layers of time and nature. From eerie, vine-entangled headstones to ghostly legends that linger like morning mist, these cemeteries are time capsules waiting to be explored. What secrets do these resting places of souls long gone have to share.
